There are a number of well written LG 3D TV reviews published at my favourite reviews website www.3D-TVBuyingGuide.com

LG Corp was originally Lak-Hui Chemical Industry, founded by Koo In-Hwoi in 1947. Based out of South Korea, Lak-Hui (pronounced “lucky”) was the first company in the country to begin manufacturing plastics. Plastics proved a good move for Lak-Hui, allowing its establishment of GoldStar Do, Ltd., in 1958. GoldStar would eventually become LG Electronics Inc., the consumer electronics arms of LG Corp. Lucky become a well-known home product manufacturer, creating popular soaps, detergents, and toothpastes, while GoldStar continued to make great strides in the area of home electronics.

GoldStar is responsible for South Korea's first radio, created in 1959. This led to GoldStar becoming a large manufacturer of consumer electronics in the Korean market. It wasn't until 1995 that the company would change its name to LG, an abbreviation of the two major arms Lucky and GoldStar. Since then, LG Corp has become South Korea's third largest conglomerate, producing electronics, telecommunications products, and chemicals. The company now pairs its LG name with its new tagline, “Life's Good.”

Now that recent 3D release like How to Train Your Dragon and Avatar have shown that the public still enjoys 3D films, LG is attempting to bring the same experience into the living room. Using an active shutter system, new LG televisions will pair a set of shutter glasses with the display refresh rate to create high-definition 3D. The glasses will darken each lens in time with the refresh rate, creating a scenario in which only one HD image enters each eye. This process drastically cuts down on image degradation and eyestrain. And without the need for red and blue anaglyph images, no 3D content will suffer from color distortion.

In May 2010, LG is scheduled to release the LX9500 series, first in Korea and a little later in international markets. These new 3D LCD TVs can produce three-dimensional effects at a resolution of 1080p, and come in 47- and 55-inch models. LG has even created a proprietary LED arrangement, placing the array behind the liquid crystal display, to produce an unheard-of 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The televisions will come equipped with a USB 2.0 port, allowing consumers to connect USB devices like flash drives or hard drives. Also available is an integrated Wireless AV Link, allowing connection to Wi-Fi home entertainment network devices. There's even an optional webcam that will allow consumers to use Skype through their TVs.

Both the 47-inch and 55-inch models will include LG's TruMotion 400Hz technology, Spot Control, Pictured Wizard II, Clear Voice II, Infinite Sound, and Intelligent Sensor, just to name a few advances. With all of these great technological marvels included, the LX9500 series will be able to produce both high quality video and sound. Each set comes bundled with one pair of shutter glasses, but additional pairs will cost extra. At only 22.3mm in thickness, LX9500s will be some of the thinnest televisions on the market, though they still can't compare to Samsung's super-slim 8mm C9000. The LX9500 will also include HDMI 1.4 connectivity. This does mean, however, that consumers may have to upgrade to home theater packages that use HDMI 1.4, as most still use the older HDMI 1.3 format. The 47-inch model is rumored to carry a price tag of around $4,150, which is a little steeper than other announced 3D TV prices.

LG Electronics has become one of the main competitors in the global television market, and of the largest in South Korea alone. If 3D television does turn out to be the next great wave in home entertainment, LG is poised right at the forefront of the market. And with a series like the LX9500, LG could very well end up king of the 3D hill this summer.
The 2011 LG 3D TV range consists of both plasma and LED LCD models, with displays that are ultra thin and feature a wide viewing angle along with optional wireless connection. They are DLNA compatible, ISFccc calibration ready, and some screens are even THX certified.

The innovative Japanese manufacturer has caused a stir during 2011 with the introduction of their LG Cinema 3D TV range, which works on passive 3D TV technology. The main benefit of this is in LGs claims that these 3D TVs produce flicker free images and allow the use of 3D glasses which are much cheaper and lighter in weight than the active shutter glasses used with most other manufacturers sets.

Superior Picture Quality

LG Cinema 3D takes the technology used in theaters and brings it to at home viewing; even 2D pictures can be converted to quality 3D. Some TVs feature TruMotion technology, which adds extra frames per second for a picture that is crisp and blur free. Plasma screens have 600Hz Max Sub Field Driving technology for even better results. A Dual XD Engine provides color accuracy, superior resolution, and clarity. The Picture Wizard on LG 3D TV models is a series of built in tools that make it easy to customize settings for constant perfection.

Additionally, the Intelligent Sensor on LG TVs will automatically optimize the picture based on the ambient lighting and color conditions.
